We are currently taking applications for our last 2024 litter.
Our puppies are chosen for best fit and NOT first come, first serve. In order to be considered for a puppy please complete the contact form and we will email through our Puppy Application Form when a puppy becomes available.
Please note; just because a puppy application form has been completed, that does not guarantee a puppy. You will be notified if your application is successful.
Ohana Dachshund puppies will be available for selection once they are four to six weeks old. This allows us to get an idea of their temperament. We prefer to match puppies to their Forever Homes based on their compatibility, more than their colouring or gender. (Though we do consider your preferences when picking homes. Please remember the more open you are to colour, coat type and sex of the puppy, the sooner a puppy is likely to become available.) Selected families will be allowed to come and meet their puppy in person, after the puppies have had their 6 week vaccinations, as we love to meet our puppies’ future parents. We are based in Perth area and do not ship our puppies at this stage. A $1000 holding fee is required to hold a puppy.
The puppies are ready to go to their forever homes once they are twelve weeks old. This allows us to complete the Breeders Bootcamp training and socialisation program to ensure that the puppy is well balanced for life away from its littermates.
The puppy will be sterilised, microchipped, wormed, and vaccinated to date (typically includes two vaccinations). All dachshund puppies will come with an extensive puppy pack that will help them adjust to their new lives with their forever homes. Puppies will also come with a copy of their parents pedigree and genetic test results from Pawprints Genetics or Canine Health Check (they’re the same lab) as well as information about their family tree.
We try very hard to match our puppies with families that will keep, love and care for them for the remainder of their lives. However, we understand that in rare instances, life happens. We have a take back guarantee. We will take back our puppies at anytime, for any reason. We never, ever want to see them in a pound or listed online for resale. More about this can be found in our Contract of Sale that is signed upon purchasing a puppy from Ohana Dachshunds.
